Students explore the element of design: space. They select an object from their everyday environment and closely study its shape, line, and spatial relationships. Using these visual characteristics as inspiration, students design a custom typeface derived from the form of the object.

The Senior Thesis is the capstone project in the Design & Visual Communications program. Students synthesize thecreative,  technical, and conceptual  skills they have developed throughout the pathway. Students identify a personally meaningful topic and conduct research to develop a strong visual concept and design direction. Through an iterative process of sketching, critique, revision, and digital production, they create a cohesive body of work that demonstrates both creative vision and technical mastery. The project concludes with a formal presentation and exhibition, where students articulate their design process and the ideas behind their work.
